Function of Beauty Reviews - What Is It?

WARNING: DO NOT BUY Function of Beauty Until You Read This Review!
Is it a Scam? Does It Really Work? Check Ingredients, Side Effects and More!

Function of Beauty is a company that offers people who appreciate their hair the opportunity to order fully customized hair-care sets. The latter include a shampoo and a conditioner depending on your hair's texture and other five characteristics. You can even customize the scent and color of your products. The idea of creating such personalized sets was started by two MIT grads, Joshua Maciejewski and Zahir Dossa, as well as Hien Nguyen, a cosmetic chemist. CEO Zahir Dossa states that the idea for the service was inspired by a desire to create shampoos that would really fit the person's hair type. The problem is that most products usually focus on a specific user's goal, not needs of their hair.

The company claims that there are twelve billion possible combinations of formula ingredients that are selected based on the customer's hair profile. The team of professionals creates the product using the information you provide and Function of Beauty's proprietary algorithms. You are promised to get a completely unique hair product. While their formulas vary greatly based on the personal information you provide, everyone shares a few things in common. All of the company's shampoos and conditioners are Cruelty free, Sulfate free, Paraben free, Toxin free and are made in the USA. But do these products really work as promised? Let's find out by taking a look at their ingredients.

Ingredients of Function of Beauty - Does It Really Work? Is It a Scam?

Function of Beauty

As a matter of fact, the manufacturer of hair-care products does not list the ingredients included to their shampoos and conditioners. They just offer you an opportunity to customize your Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner. You will need to start the customization process by filling out a hair profile. The first step includes choosing between the following issues: your hair type (straight, curly, wavy, coily); your scalp moisture (dry, normal, oily); and your hair structure (fine, medium, coarse). Then you will be asked to pick five hair goals out of the following: replenish hair, deep condition, fix split ends, hydrate, strengthen, lengthen, color protection, volumize, thermal protection, anti-frizz, anti-aging, curl definition, straighten, shine, nourish roots, oil control, and soothe scalp. Next, you can customize the smell and look of your formulas. You can choose from separate shades for your conditioner and shampoo, choosing between pink, blue, orange, purple, and teal. Then, you can choose a fragrance (conditioner and shampoo will have the same scent), between grapefruit hibiscus, cucumber mint, a minty blend of essential oils, and sandalwood violet.

You can also choose your fragrance strength, as well as the name that will be displayed on the bottles. Most customers like this part of the process. As you choose each goal, the official website will show the active components to help you to do it. These may include baobab seed protein, carob seed extract, and algae extract. Little information is available about these ingredients, though, so you never know how your hair and skin will react to them. Finally, you will be able to customize your formulas, basically choosing the color (for instance, a dye-free option), and fragrance strength and type. But hat do actual customers think about their purchases? Are they happy with their experience? Let's try to answer these questions by taking a look at the real users' reviews left online.

Customer Reviews - Does It Have Any Side Effects?

Unfortunately, the manufacture of Function of Beauty does not mention any possible side effects and adverse reactions associated with the use of their products. As they do not give full ingredient lists, you are never protected from health dangers. You may experience itching, dandruff, skin dryness, etc. To find out whether these products were perceived as well claimed by the official website, we headed to Google and found a number of real users' reviews. A review at The Most Happy says that the woman was satisfied with her custom shampoo and conditioner, as these products allowed her to go up to three days in between washes. Review at Hello Giggles reported that Function of Beauty did not provide a full ingredient list on the packaging. Even though there was a recommended personalized hair care regimen and a print-out of the customer's hair profile. Function of Beauty is meant for mass orders but few customers shared their experience on third-party websites. They complained that their shipments came later than expected. The company did not notify their customers with a personal email about late delivery. Some people were unsatisfied with the customer service. Let's find out whether the users were happy with their products by looking at their actual reviews.

"I bought Function of Beauty set for my daughter. It was completely personalized for her thick hair. At first, she did like the way her hair started feeling, then she noticed that it did not control the frizz as she wanted. She was sorry to announce me that her hair was falling out in clumps within a few next weeks. I would not recommend this product to anyone"

"To say that I am disappointed in Function Of Beauty would be too little. I spent $50 CAD on a product I was waiting for so long but it never arrived. I ordered it on November 6 but it hasn't arrived yet (it was the end of December). I understand that this is Christmas season and they probably have a lot of orders but they didn't even send me an email explaining why my order is delayed"

"I like FunctionOfBeauty product. I received my first order three months ago and decided to order a personalized set again. But I have been waiting for the second order for almost a month already. This delivery situation is inexcusable because I am not abroad. I don't know what to do, but the customer service keeps silent. I will probably get back to drugstore shampoos and conditioners"

You can order 16 oz Shampoo and 8 oz Conditioner for $38. 16 oz Shampoo is priced at $26, while 16 oz Conditioner costs $26. Each order offers free returns and shipping. My Final Summary

Function of Beauty seems to be a service with a mixed reputation. While some customers are satisfied with their products, others are not. The majority of reviews are positive but many of them appear to be fake. Multiple reviews report inability to get the orders that were paid for. There were a few concerns too. For example, the company does not provide full ingredient lists of their products, which means that you may face certain side effects. With this in mind, I cannot recommend Function of Beauty customized products.
