Namenda XR (memantine hydrochloride) is a new product meant to treat moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It is available in the form of extended-release capsules. This product is said to be approved for the treatment of the higher mentioned diseases. However, there is no evidence that the drug can really prevent or slow the underlying process of the illness in patients with Alzheimer's disease. This medication is available by the doctor's prescription only.

Namenda XR has its own official website that is very low-informative and does not even provide basic information on the active ingredients of the product. It is only mentioned that the main component is Memantine that is used to treat confusion (dementia) connected with Alzheimer's disease. As a specialist, I can say that this compound does not really cure Alzheimer's disease, but it may be beneficial for your awareness, memory, and the ability to perform daily functions. The company behind the produt is unknown, thus it is not reputable. They don't manufacture any other products.

"I began to treat my mother with the 7mg tab of Nemanda xr, but within several days my mother stopped eating, confused nights and days, she became very tearful and even started seeing things and people who were unreal. I immediately took my mother off the drug and she is doing much better"

"My husband was diagnosed with AZ several years ago. Within four days of taking Nemanda XR my husband became very confused, disoriented and was unable to think soberly and make simple decisions. He immediately stopped taking it and within a week he was back to himself. Do not take this drug"

My Final Summary

I don't think that Namenda XR can take proper care of patients with Alzheimer's. There are a lot of testimonials online saying that the medication doesn't only help to improve the user's condition, but worsens it even more. Side effects can be terrible. Besides, the drug is extremely expensive. I would not recommend this product to usage.
